You can have your dessert and eat it too! The Alo Diet isn't going to tell you to not eat dessert. You can have dessert. But we will choose things from a low glycemic index standpoint.
In Phase I of the Alo Diet, avoid sweets and dessert completely. The initial phase is designed to reset your body's metabolism and give you a clean slate. In order for it to work correctly, you have to avoid sweets and carbohydrates in the first phase.
Once you are in Phase II, you can have some low glycemic index dessert like the two below. See our recipe section for more ideas.
Cut up some strawberries. Throw in some blueberries and raspberries. Sprinkle some splenda on them. Then top them off with some light whip cream. Eat with a spoon. Very low glycemic index.
Take a sweet, light, low-fat cheese like ricotta or cottage cheese. Mix in a tablespoon of cocoa powder. Dip your favorite fruit wedges into it and eat. Strawberries, apples, cherries, and oranges all work well with this.

If you don't have a sweet tooth, just pass on dessert.
